In addition to the gardens, we hope you’ll visit some of the local businesses that support the tour. The following events take place in conjunction with the tour.
June 26, 1 p.m., Peninsula Gardens, 5503 Wollochet Dr. Join Northwest horticultural expert Marianne Binetti for a talk on “Edible Gardening for Washington and Oregon,” which is the topic of her most recent publication. Marianne writes a syndicated gardening column, has written or co-written 10 gardening books, gives seminars, and leads garden tours around the world with her husband, Joe. Her newest book will be available for purchase, and Marianne will stay after her talk to sign your copy.
June 26, 7:30 p.m., Kopachuck State Park, 11101 56th St. NW. Take time on Saturday evening to attend a free Bat Chat. Ron Witter is a local bat enthusiast and volunteers with Bats Northwest, a public education and advocacy group that promotes conservation and research about bats. Ron will speak about the benefits of inviting bats into your yard, and share safe, bat-friendly ways to keep them from taking up residence in your home. See him also at Garden 4 (Saturday only). June 27, 2 p.m., ACE Hardware on Point Fosdick Drive. Join local garden columnist Sue Goetz of “The Creative Gardener” for a seminar titled “Paint by Number Perennial Combinations.” Sue will share easy and inspirational tips and techniques for your perennial garden. Learn how to pick three great plants and create puddles of “WOW” in garden borders. Her techniques work in all gardens, from sun to shade, from bloom to long-lasting beauty, with tried and true favorites as well as the latest market must-haves.
Vendors: all gardens. Every garden on the tour will feature local garden and artist vendors for your delight.

This FREE, fun-filled, family event will get everyone outside to explore the beach. Alan Rammer, a marine education and outreach specialist will lead the tour, opening up an exciting world with sand dollars, anemones, squid and other life visible as the tide rolls back.
Information booths and touch tanks will be set up afterwards to help you learn how local actions are improving water quality and how you can get involved.
